Question Please ???

I sure someone here knows the answer to this ....

I have a two files in my documents called winlonghorn.exe and another called XP Black.exe been there since 2003 and 2005 respectivly both are applications...

I have Googled both but I still can't find what either really are ??? any help would be greatly appreciated ...

Can't say that I know what these files are, but I would strongly recommend updating your antivirus software, and scanning them before even considering executing them. Have you done that?

 

They sound like executable theme files from themexp.

Quite a few of those have spyware bundled. Either way they are both safe to delete.

 

I have run all sorts of spyware over the years and theres nothing harmful in thess two files (XP Black.exe &winlonghorn.exe) I'd just like to know what they are and is it safe to delete them ...

This is a free hex file reader. You can use it to decode any header information in the files to see where they came from.

Let us know how you get on.

 

Ok .... downloaded the program ran it and still don't know what they were so I deleted them (figured I could do a restore) nothing happened

Computer seems to run fine .... I'll poke around a bit more and see what happens, I will post back with results

When poking around it is safer to rename files first then delete them if no serious consequences ensue.

Pity there was no originators info in the files.

 

Well I guess that does it .... I'm keeping the XVI32
