I just removed AVG and installed Avast instead (I got sick of the constant nagging to upgrade to the paid version), and so far Avast has found three instances of Win32:Agent-XQS [Trj]. The Trojan in question seems to like sitting in patch files for my games, files that I have downloaded from the game developer's website using the update function in the game client. Two instances so far in my Witcher patch, and one in my DungeonRunners patch. Avast recommended moving them to the Virus Chest, so I did that.

Anyways, I have two questions. The first is: Am I running into false positives here? The second is, is this Trojan the same as the one in the sticky about Trojan.Win32.Agent.akk at the top of this forum? If it is, I can just go through that thread and follow the instructions there. Is there any word yet on whether the instructions in that thread work in Vista 64-bit?

    Thanks in advance,
to all gallant malware fighters! (and to TimW too LOL)

Yes! Avast has more FP's than AVG.

Not related at all. And it is just an FP.

Sweet. Then I'll fill out the little form on Avast's website, put my patch files back, and not worry about it anymore. Thanks! :)

Avast found a couple of zlob as well, long after I made that post. I put them in the virus chest and a second scan came up blank, so I'll ignore them too.
