Ok so I basically have one main question reguarding ccleaner, I recently dled it and my main questions is:
the section tools, startup, shows all the programs that startup when your machine boots up obviously, my question is some of the programs are pretty obvious by saying "aim", "windows defender", and then others that I dont even know I'm guessing there system files question is how do I know which ones I can delete from the startup and which ones not to touch(I'm sure for the most part some of us have similar looking startups where there are certain system files we should never touch, and then other things such as msn messenger and such that we could delete:major

ps..also even though you delete it from the startup in ccleaner, will I have to go into the specific program as well and check the settings on there as well, for example I deleted aim from the startup in ccleaner, but then checked the settings on aim itself and it was set to start when windows start, doesn't that basically counter-act what I just did in ccleaner?

    Hi

Yes I know what you mean without a usable title to the startup your left wondering if its safe to delete or not, best option in these cases is to use the file name that is listed and do a search on it with your favoured search engine, you will generally hit one of the startup sites like http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/ or http://www.castlecops.com/StartupList.html as these will give you idea on what they are and if its fairly safe to remove, in the end its your decision wether you need that app to start with your PC or not, but remember if its a security app like firewall and AV then these should always be left to start.

But also check the version of CCleaner you have as its updated in last day or so to version 2.02.527 http://majorgeeks.com/download4191.html

Yes its wise to check the app for autostarting at boot with your PC as some will put their startup back into the RUN hive of the registry, then delete with CCLeaners Startups manager.
