Questions about new printer

I just bought a new printer, partly because a Windows update seems to have removed the ability to scan from my old printer. (Thanks, Microsoft!)

I bought a Canon PIXMA MP640 because it boasted of wireless capabilities.

I was planning on hooking it up to my son's desktop (which doesn't have a wireless card) and also using it to print from the laptops without needing to unplug the USB cable every time.

However, the instructions say that it can't be wired and wireless at the same time?

Is there a way I can hook my son's computer up to the router or something, so we can all share the printer?

Or get a USB Wifi adapter for his desktop.

Thanks! That's a great idea! I had no idea they made such a thing!

    Should be under $40 IIRC.
