    Babes
so I've this issue that at first wasn't too bad but within a day in kinda went BOOMISH on me.

So hears the gist of everything thats been happening:

Started my comp up about 1 day ago,
AVG pro Internet security told me i had about 3 .ddl being naughty.
Sent them to the vault and healed them.

Computer is starting to become slow.
Hadn't added programs as of late. Figured it was cuase my comp was on for a while. Wrong.
Restarted it. Got about 8 threat warnings from AVG, repeated what I did.
    Computer SUPER slow.
I kinda had the horrible inkling that the virus was resurrecting itself and infecting more files every restart. I was wrong about that too.
It does it about every hour pending on what I delete.

EX: Uninstall Movie Maker the default windows program. watched the file in the folder, restored them self in a matter of minutes.

Now IEXPLORER.EXE is starting itself and giving me pop-ups. But oddly only when Mozilla Firefox is open.
    CPU for processes is ridiculous.
    Specifically for WINLOGON.EXE. It's up about 70-85 almost 24/7.

Already ran CCLEANER cleaner, issues, and tools. Plan on running it again once A-SQUARED is done.
After that ran SPYBOT-SEARCH AND DESTROY. Did a full clean and scan.
Tried DISKEEPER DEFRAGMENT took about 2 hours so get 12%.
Wanted to see if that would make scans faster. Didn't even finish that. HAD to quit it. It froze.
I'm trying to a A-SQUARED FREE 2.1 scan but it's actually taking more than 4 hrs. Still scanning.

I also have a question about AVG PRO INTERNET SECURITY 7.5, it has a resident scanner, is that the same as a firewall?

Now see I'm worried that I if even out the effort into doing the basic removal of malware , viruses, and trojon, ETC.
That the forum and everyone here recommends, it'll be a waste of time.
I'm afraid it'll just restore itself and maybe even more infect more files.

    Help would be super.

feathery cries of depressants, god speed the angel

Welcome to MajorGeeks.com, please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
    • CounterSpy - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
    • AVG Antispyware Log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
    • Bitdefender - from step 6
    • Panda Scan - from step 6
    • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
    • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
    • HijackThis
