    Hi everyone.

I got a new stick of memory coming and got a quick question. The memory I have coming is a stick of 512MB PC2100. I currently have a stick of 256MB PC2100 installed. I have 2 slots for memory.

When I install the new stick, do I put it in the free slot or do I switch them around? Or does it matter?

    Here's my specs:

    Dell Dimension 4500
    Pentium 4A 2.0 Ghz
    Intel Pendleton 2 D845EPT2 Motherboard
32MB ATI Rage 128 Ultra (which is going to be replaced soon)
    Onboard Sound
    80 gig HDD
    AMI (5/22/02) bios

    Thanks in advance.

just toss it into the next available slot. it's not going ot matter which chip is in what slot so whatever takes the least amount of time do it.
