quick question

how many posts do u have to have before you can make ur own title... such as ACE 256 is keeng of Overklokkers.... splitt3r is "you are know a victim of a drive by title change" and so on... how many posts do u need to make your own?

 

you don't make your own...the mods come up with them.

 

I don't think there are any rewards for high post counts around here. There isn't really any need.

The title changes come with time - or if you get noticed for something. You want to be careful with that second one

LOL. Tis a far better thing to get noticed for something positive. I had well over 1000 posts before I got a custom title, or rank, or whatever. They used to be pretty rare. Actually, I thought it was nice just being a "Major Geek" which is the automatic rank for 1000 posts. The one thing you do NOT want to do is to go begging for one. Guaranteed you won't like what you get that way.

i think its kinda funny actually. who cares what your post count is or your title? its no big deal. like others have said, its the quality of your posts, not the quantity. so work on the quality, not the quantity. and don't sweat the post count. no one cares.

It means those reading your replies in the tech forums should 'think' about them, as in question the accuracy of said replies b/c of your posting history...re: ill thought out replies, completely inaccurate replies, replying just to pad your post count, etc.

"IF" your posting habits consistently improve, your title will change to reflect that.

Pay attention to WHAT you post. Respect and friendship come from WHAT you say, not how much you say. True in real life as well as in the virtual world.

There are places for letting your hair down and clowning around. Here, that's the lounge, and Interesting Links. There are places for being serious, and keeping quiet unless you have something useful to add to what's going on. Here, that's the tech forums. We, and more importantly, THE OWNERS, take the tech forums very seriously. Don't screw around there at all.

Hehe. Me too, soon. I start on chemotherapy next Thursday, and the doctor tells me I won't have mine much longer either. We'll be a matched set.

 

Just keep in mind that although your/our responses are in writing, we are real people at the other end. So just like you wouldn’t run up to someone and start some meaningless interjection, the same is not encouraged here. Just basically common sense, really. Now titles could be endearing, could be a bit of a warning, could be enigmatic. Not that important either. So I'm 'Brigadier Britches' - at least I wear the pants, LoL. As long as they aint yeller Hocky shorts, I'm happy, LoL! (Private lil' joke).

 

Those kind of people are usually referred to as "spammers" and if they got to 10k on pure spam tehy proabbly aren't around anymore, lol.

 

Plus, if I'm gonna be shedding like a dog in the spring, I'd rather be shedding short bits rather than long strands. Should be less messy.

 

cutting it short, simply helps the visual shock of it all. but that, in of itself, is no small thing. unfortunately it wont help you to keep it. i personally quite like the billiard look. (certainly looks better on the men LOL ). prayers and aloha

 

I wish you well with that, Gary. Having had one form of this treatment long ago, all I can tell you, is that although not a pleasant experience, my hair did grow back eventually. Mind you, I was relatively young, which helped.

Anyway hopefully it will have the desired effect, and keep things in check. I’ll be thinking of ya.
