Hi - QWS is showing up as my home page in IE. Fortunately Firefox is bug-free so far. I have run AdAware SE so far. Could someone help me get rid of QWS, please?

• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

I followed steps 1-6 in 'Read & Run...' and that took care of my problem. A couple of things I noticed: the Microsoft antispyware program hung during installation - I never got to try it out (my machine runs win2k). And the TrojanScan program (I think that's the one) found 11 malwares but I didn't see an option to generate a report, only a link to their software, a-squared I think it's called.

Anyway, kudos to you and your colleagues for a well-managed forum and many thanks.

Glad you got your problem resolved, if you like you can attach a current HJT log from normal mode to confirm your clean.
