Quicktime quirk!

Running XPsp2. What's up with Quicktime? Running latest 7.1 version. Suddenly when opening the player with option to show content guide at startup, a little box displays saying...error 47, invalid URL. The content guide won't open. Plus I notice Quicktime won't uninstall from add/remove programs or from the uninstaller command in the all-programs Quicktime. Tried installing over current version, no help. Checked Quicktime folders and files in Program Files in Windows, everything is there. Anyone noticed this issue yet?
