Qwest DSL w/ MSN Premium

Looking for opinions/thoughts on this.

Qwest tech who was testing my line today says he is getting 1.1-1.2, and sometimes even 1.3 down, even during peak times. His line quality is as good as mine.

Looking at this page, I get the impression that this isn't really MSN's network anymore, but its Qwest all the way through, with MSN as the content provider. Especially since he said that when you call for support, you call Qwest.

With the current problems I have had with my current ISP and bandwidth, or lack thereof, I'm wondering if its not a bad idea to go with Qwest, seeing how they have bent over backwards so far to get me the best connection on my line. They have also tested my line through and through, to make sure its showing full speed, 1536/1024.


Just looking for some thoughts on this.

 

That is a lot of effort to make sure that you get your money's worth from their competitor service. It doesn't seem that they could be worse than your current ISP. Go for it.

 

agreed.. They could probably do more for you if you were with them directly.

 

Qwest gets my vote too.

 

Yeah, they spent an hour on the phone with my ISP, replaced part of my phone line, tested the line from the CO to the ISP, and from me to the CO. They removed equipment off the line that shouldn't have been there, even tried another modem. I was most impressed by the phone call they made form my house yesterday, they even went through the modem settings with my ISP! That was above and beyond in my book.

I've not had a telco or ISP work so hard for me, with such a minimal amount of complaining. Especially, as you said, for me to get my money's worth from a competitor.

I slept on it, and I really think I'm gonna go with them.
