I followed the FAQ. It went away for a while. Now it's back.
Yes I disabled system restore (always the first question). Followed the whole FAQ.

Think the problem was rads01.quadrogram, of the things that adaware found. It's generating popups, even with browser closed and not yet opened. Apparently happens on startup or on logon of one particular user.

    Oh, and I'm using:
    XP Home.
    1.8GhZ Pentium 4
    512 MB memory

The primary user for this machine doesn't even use her browser, just Outlook (not the most secure, I know, but it's not my decision).

I can give you an Adaware logfile if needed.

I did all the tricks I know then I did the FAQ tricks. This is the adware that wouldn't die and I'm out of ideas.

    Please help.
    TIA.

Please follow the steps below exactly:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
