RAID 0 Problem

OK...This is my first post. I have a problem that I cant quite figure out. I just installed Wincows XP on a RAID 0 setup. I have a shuttle AV49P motherboard with 1GB PC 4000, NVIDIA GFORCE FX 5700, 2 120 GB HD (SATA), and 500 watt ultra X-connect PS Windows XP SP2. Windows installed fine, things seem to be OK except for when I run PCMark04 or Joint Operations (Sweet Game). During the final test (44 of 44) the HDD usage part of it, it freezes up at the very end of everything. Same thing happens with Joint Operations, during the middle of the game the puter just locks up. All RAID configurations say setup is fine; however, my puter should not freeze like this. I have tried all I know to resolve the issue but unfortunatly I cant fix this darn thing...Help if you can!!!Thanks

 

can you tell what you've tried so far so we don't repeat it?

 

Alright...I guess i havent tried a whole lot, just what i could figure out...So far i have installed the RAID drivers and ran the HD disk setup and fix at boot-up. I have not had a RAID system before so i do not really know where to go from here. It is getting anoying when it freezes up, I gotta have my PCMark 04 score...hehe

 

Are you certain these applications function under XP SP2?

Have you tried the HDD manufacturer tools to ensure your HDD are not faulty? Are they same make and model of drives?

 

Drives are two identical Samsung SP1213C 120 GB HD. They are striped with 64K file system. I have run SP2 on the puter be4 with only one drive and never had problems. It started when the drives were striped.

 

P.S. They are SATA drives...plus P4 2.53 processor, not that that matters.

 

hmmmm...noone seems to have any idea or suggestions. I am using the latest driver version from VIA. on top of joint operations and pcmark 04 locking up, when i try to reload windows it also freezes up. when i get to the hit escape to start with a clean install of windows, thats where it faults again!!! WTF??? any ideas?????????/

 

ok....it's been way more than 30 min...time to reload!

 

How are things working after the reload?

This was a hardware or software RAID?

 

YEAAAA!!! I fixed the problem. I had a Shuttle motherboard and that is what the problem was. I messed with that motherboard for about 10 days and couldnt figure it out. I finally returned it and got a new ABIT IS7 motherboard and now everything works great. Never buy a Shuttle motherboard!!!They Suck!!!
