RAID 1 recovery

Anyone know of any free or cheap way of recovering data from a RAID 1 HDD? I had a WD 1TB external drive that is RAID 1. The power port on the circuit board seems to be loose or broken all together, I cannot get a stable power for long enough to retrieve the data.

I was able to remove the HDDs, but obviously windows doesn't see it by default. I found EaseUS says it will recover it, but I cannot verify the files are in tact and its $70. Not money I want to spend for a 1 time fix that "might" recover the data.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

 

If it was a RAID 1, then you have 2 disks with identical data, you don't need the data off the 'dead' drive. Unless you are saying RAID 1 and have no idea what you have?

Yes, when the drive is removed, Windows will no longer see it.

Maybe you need to explain yourself better.. maybe include part numbers or names of the device(s)..

You are correct, part of it is a guess that its raid 1. The enclosure had 2x 1TB drives, and when it worked windows saw it as a 1 TB external. I've had it for several years, and there isn't much info on the enclosure but I'm 90% sure it's this one.

I have a USB sata adapter and power supply to get data off of hdds. When I plug one of the 2 drives in, windows asks to format it. HDDs appear fine, just no partitions are recognizable via windows.
