Ram not working! HELP

    Hey I wanted to up my Ram so i went to a computer shop and bought the ram that i thought would work ( PNY 2*1GB 355MHZ DDR2) but when using it it works slower and i keep getting a bsod but my computer seems to pick them up. my old ram were (2*512MB DDR2 355MGZ) so can somebody tell me whats wrong I have a acer aspire T650 comuter.

    Sounds to me like you have bad DRAM. And I assume you meant 533MHz memory. Return the DRAM you have. Now-a-days, it is much easier and cheaper to find 667MHz Ram (it will just dumb itself down and operate at 533MHz in your machine). Should cost you around 19.99 a stick online and 34.99 a stick in store.

    I don't care for over the counter RAM, its too generic. I prefer to use the Memory Config tools at one of the RAM manufacters websites. Here is PNYs http://www2.pny.com/configurator/index.aspx?manufacturer=

    its a drop down but other sites like Crucial or Corsair have programs which you allow (via active x) to go into your PC and see what you have and what you can handle and recommned their product from there.
