    hi,

    just a question..

My computer's memory is always around 726MB. This is pretty high and i think i've got some malware on my computer but i've already posted a thread in "malware" about that.

is there any way I can drastically lower my RAM?

Yeh, pull out one of the memory sticks, but why would you want to do that when most people think that the more RAM you've got, the better your PC performs??confused

I'm talking about the RAM that's in use..

I've got the feeling that most of what is in use isn't supposed to be there (the programs taking up the RAM!)

look at your own ram, is that normaly about 725MB?

 Ahh! OK right, I'm a dumbo. I don't know what mine's currently using 'cos I'm on a work's machine that I'm not about to fiddle with. I think there's only 256mb of RAM on this machine tho' so it can't be using anything like what yours is.

It also takes about 4 minutes to start my computer.
I've checked for malware and fixed all the probs, but still it's so damn slow :(

Mliston406 here, I am no expert but... I would get rid of the alcohol toolbar, extra button (no name) and hp update software, unless you actually use the hp crap that came with your printer cd you only need the driver file to use your printer. Also find out what this is ,Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\UAService7.exe
    That is a start.

no idea what C:\WINDOWS\System32\UAService7.exe is for... only takes 57kb so that's no problem... does anyone know what CLI.exe, dit.exe and DitExp are for? they take a bit of space...
