Alright, I'm looking to add more RAM to my computer, but I've got two conflicting reports of what I can put into it. The manufacturer says 2 GB max, with 1GB per slot. Crucial, as well as the original store say it's a maximum of 8GB. Can anyone tell me which one is the correct stat for it?

See what Everest Home says--it seems to give a clear readout of RAM capacity used and capacity free. .

I had a similar problem on an old DELL where the manufacturer said 1GB max and everyone else said 2GBmax. Turned out the 2GB max was correct. Check the manufacturer's website to see if there has been a BIOS upgrade that would address the discrepancy.

Looking further at the MSI site under BIOS updates it looks like 4GB is definitely supported as one of the releases corrects a misreported memory amount when 4GB is used.

    Actually, Crucial says 2GB max

Weird, Everest also reports 2GB max, with 1 GB in each slot.

Crucial only shows it when I run it's built in scanner.

I would take it to the guy, but I bought it on line. I guess I'll just match the RAM in there then. Thanks for the assistance.
