I have had 2 to 3 BSODs per day for about 6 weeks now. I have had a "Error in Ssl Connection" error after bootup for several months. I have pursued both of these issues in the software forum with lots of good help, but the issues remain and it was suggested go to this forum.

I followed the chaslang XP Cleaning Procedure as closely as possible. Combofix and MGTools wouldn't work as I am running Windows XP x64. In lieu of MGTools I ran highjackthis and attached the log. SUPERAntiSpyware found a trojan, but SpyBotSD and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware found nothing. I run Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.

I have a kernal dump analysis by WinDbg that I have uploaded in other posts. The latest BSOD stop error was D1.

The "Error in Ssl Connection" message is by the process Popup.exe. This process is supposed to be part of Dell's SAS Raid Storage Manager.

I have a damaged block at 307 MB per HD Tune. I have run chkdsk /r to fix, but it does not go away. I have ordered another HD to replace, but it won't be here for a few days.

I did an overnight test of memory with zero errors.

It was suggested that the Logitech cordless trackball mouse could be at issue for the BSOD's so I have removed it and the driver and associated software from the machine.

    Your help is appreciated:)

    Mike

These are not malware issues. I was going to move this to the Software Forum but I see you had posted a duplicate thread already. This thread in the Malware Forum is therefore closed.
