Random howling wind noise when in IE

This is driving me nuts. I have used Ad-aware and Spybot S&D to track down the cause but no luck.

At random times I am getting a howling wind sound that lasts for about 3-5 seconds. No other symptoms but It's driving me nuts. I have scanned with e-trust and the two malware detection products listed above. I have thought about using something like filemon to see what file is being access when this occurs but it is so infrequent and random that I dont think filemon is the answer.

any suggestions?

You say this only happens when you are using IE?
Does it also happen in safe boot mode?

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.

Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

Notes:

If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection
