Rather dibilitating issue.

Ok, here's the facts:

1. I was on my computer and everything was running smoothly, as always.
2. I am the sole user on this computer and as such have the administrator account and for paranoia's sake, password protected.
3. I turned my computer off for the night, when I turned it back on, my account would no longer accept my password.

I also tried all passwords I've had on it for the past 2 years. (A total of only 3) It rejects them all, I also tried generic stuff stuff as a hail Mary ie. admin, administrator, owner, password. That kind of stuff.

I'm not sure how common this kind of issue is, but I'm forced to use the guest account on my own computer because of it -.-

Anyone know how this happens? or better yet how to fix it?

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

 

Ok, I plead guilty to posting here before really thinking it out. My bad, I booted in safe mode and logged on as administrator and changed the password back to what I had it as.

Still I'd like to know how this happened? or will it happen again?

I am the only one with access to this computer and I live alone. :/

 

Try entering safe mode (f8) and remove password from the account in question. if not then you may find this helpful though i have never used it before.... http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/tables.php

 

If I was you I would follow the READ me RUN me in the Mallware section of this forum as you may have some sort of infection creating mallicious activities on your machine.
Be sure to follow all of the instructions and post the results in a new thread in the mallware forum. some one with the relevent knowledge will be able to look into your logs and help resolve any issues there might be.
