Hola amigos,Last few days on start up pc makes a loud vibrating noise not sure if it hard drive or small fan near chipset..Noise gets gradually louder then stops when os system is up and running.
    AMD Athlon64 3000+ socket 939 Core speed 1808
    NVIDIA nforce4 NF-CK804
    512 DDR
I have been told Acronis true image should enable me to copy entire system. Can I do this copy to removable media?.

    Gracias

If it's a loud, fast clicking, it's probably a fan going out or hitting a wire or something. Sometimes, fans get 'off balance' and after they spin for a bit they get back in line. You can use Acronis to image your hard drive to another hard drive, but I don't think you can image it to a DVD or other removable media, mainly due to space contraints. BTW- it would be a royal pain (IMO) to try to restore a system from DVD's to a hard drive ;)

take off the case door and listen to see if its the HDD or a fan. if u think its a fan, lightly press on the center of the fan until it stops and see if the noise goes away

it sounds like a fan to me
