I have a Dell Inspiron 3847 desktop with Win 10 home...i5 intel processor 4440 ..3.10 gigahertz processor...12gb ram..1tb hard drive which is about 4 1/2 years old ...integrated sound.

About 3 months ago i began to experience static in my sound while playing music. Since then i have tried both bluetooth wireless speakers...JBL and Sony...and USB powered speakers...a usb powered sound bar and finally the internal speaker to my monitor which is a Samsung 32 in TV set. Regardless of the type of speaker/s i used the static continues and sometimes is accompanied by a momentary distortion of the images on my PC monitor screen.
I have tried every troubleshooter i can find, have updated all drivers and reinstalled the sound drivers...Realtek. I have checked all cable connections, run every utility i can think of like CCleaner, Malwarebytes etc. Nothing has solved the static problem.
Lately my wireless mouse seems to be acting up ...not scrolling smoothly from one location to another..clicking on an icon and experiencing significant delays in the site opening ....all problems i never had before.
I have started to wonder if my problem is in my processor or mobo. Im not a computer tech but i have always relied on Device Manager to alert me to any hardware problems. So far i havent had any Dev Mgr yellow triangle alerts .I dont know what else to check to find hardware problems. Maybe the Dev Mgr doesnt do what i thought it did to warn of hardware issues.?
I know this box is 4 1/2 years old and i have used it a lot. Maybe it is starting to go? How do i figure that out? I dont want to take it to a computer repair place because at its age it would cost me more than it is worth to just find the problem if there is one. I have replaced a motherboard in another desktop i had so i could replace this one if i knew it was THE PROBLEM.
i also wonder if i could install a stand alone sound card if i have a slot for it. If i did that would the sound card override the integrated sound hardware i already have and maybe solve my static problem?
Anything i can do to further check out the actual hardware in this desktop would be appreciated.

This could be RFI/EMI. Understand the interference could be originating from within your PC case, or from an outside source (from a different nearby device - refrigerator, TV, microwave or cell tower, neighbor's ham radio, etc.). It could be a faulty device, or something as simple as a bad connection to Earth ground.

You need to unplug your computer from the wall, open the side panel and touch bare metal of the case interior to make sure you discharge any static in your body. Then make sure every data and power connection is securely fastened. If me, I would also try a different power supply.

Make sure your wall outlet is properly wired. Every home and every computer user should have access to a AC Outlet Tester to ensure your outlet is properly wired and grounded to Earth ground. I recommend one with a GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupt) indicator as it can be used to test bathroom and kitchen outlets (outlets near water) too. These testers can be found for your type and voltage outlet, foreign or domestic, (like this one for the UK) at most home improvement stores, or even the electrical department at Wal-Mart. Use it to test all the outlets in the home and if a fault is shown, have it fixed by a qualified electrician.

I feel your pain about taking it to a shop, but if none of the above reveal anything, you might take your computer to a friend's house (preferably no in your neighborhood) and see if the problem is still there.
