No...we are talking about the Hot Spot program ...it will mess up Vista. You need to post in the software section as this is not malware. It is a program you installed which is not compatible with Vista.

Please re-run SAS, MBAM, Combo and download the latest version of MGTools from the Read and RUn First instructions.

You have listed a D, J, and M drives --> are they partitions or usb drives?

Your original MBAM log showed that you did not fix what it found. Is this right?

Are you not letting MBAM fix what it finds??

Please run it, fix what it finds and then attach the log showing that.

    Hi TimW

    Thank you for your reply.

It seems that for some reason Malwarebytes was not eliminating the virus.

This last time I try, it finally do the job.
I can’t understand why but this time it didn’t do a report.
Happily I made a copy of the screen (see attach)

Now everything seems to be OK.
    Windows and AVG are updating.

I really appreciate very much your help.
    Thanks a lot

    Best regards.

I would still like you to do something else:

Please download this MGbeta.zip file to the C:\MGtools folder. Then extract the two files from it overwriting the current GetRunKey.bat and ShowNew.bat programs you have. Then double click on the GetLogs.bat file in the C:\MGtools folder. When it finishes running, attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file.

    Hi TimW

    Thank you for your reply.

I do as you ask me to do but the program couldn't create the file MGlogs.zip

In the Command Prompt Window it is said:

"zip error: Could not create output file: <C:\Mglogs.zip"

    Hope this helps

    Best regards

Did you follow the Vista instructions to disable UAC? It would seem not due to the permissions error.

Well, we are still not getting a newfiles log. Are both SAS and MBAM coming up clean at this time? If so, then I will give you the final clean up and if you encounter any continuation of the issues, let me know.

    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)

    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
