Everything has been fine on my comp, but today it just restarted for no reason. I re-scanned everything. I'll attach my hijackthis, pandascan and ewido scan logs again..

I just want to make sure that it's running smoothly.

    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to MGs.

It would be more helpful to us if you explained what problems you are having. If you just had one restart, that is not such a big deal.

Please complete any other steps from the READ & RUN ME that you may have skipped. I can see that BitDefender (in step 6) was not run. Anything else?

I also notice you have MessengerPlus3 installed. Are you aware of their affiliation with malware and how many unsuspecting PCs have had malware installed on them due to not reading their license aggreement and clicking the wrong thing.

Well I've been on here before, and was recently helped. It seems that everything is fine with my computer, but it just restarted for no reasn today, so I ran the panda scan and ewido and spybot. Spybot came up with nothing, and same with ewido.

I'll run bitdefender now if you want. I do have spywareblaster and spywareguard installed so hopefully that has helped.

I realy just want to be sure that it is gone completely. One of your staff members helped me a few weeks back, and said I had a malware infection, so I'm just wondering if it's come back or not. :/

and yeah I'm aware of Msgplus 3 installed. I did make sure when I installed it that I did not click the support stuff that came with it...

Your HJT log is clean. There is one file that Panda shows that you should delete:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\MYDLL.dll

It's up to you about running BitDefender. If you are not having any problems, don't worry about.

I deleted it. My pandascan picked that up last time, but I wasn't told to delete it. I thought it might've been an important file, but was just infected.

but yeah, I've deleted it, and I'm gonna run Bitdefender as a precaution. It might take an hour, but I'll let you know if anything else is wrong.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated. =)

It may take longer than an hour for BD to run.

The BD scanner has finished and here is the log attached.

Actually I think the first thing I attached was somewhat incorrect, as it didn't show the files that were infected. So I think this is the right log--sorry. :/

That's all in System Restore and are final steps normally resolved those. You read about it in step 1 of the READ ME.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to go back to step 1 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points. Then reboot and enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

After that, you should work thru the below link:

How to Protect yourself from malware!

    Done and done =)

I even downloaded ZoneAlarm. I thought that the windows XP SP2 firewall was efficient enough, but you guys' say no way, so yeah.

I hope everything is okay now. :/ I did the system restore thing, and when I restarted it did say that the system had recovered from a serious problem, but I just restarted it again before I turned the system restore back on, just in case.

Thanks for all your help and pointers, now I pray my comp won't turn off all the time anymore.

    =_=...it did it again...

I am utterly sure my computer has no malware, spyware or viruses...
I've been over everything with you guys' twice now.

It's perplexing to me. I suspect it has something to do with Azureus now. but that is still weird, because it's been working fine all week, and I tried it just before and after 20 minutes, my comp just restarted.

Is it possible that my computer just doesn't like Azureus, or is it possible that some file in the Azureus folder is corrupt and causing the reboots?

    Thanks.

This is probably not a topic to discuss in this forum. Probably belongs in the Software Forum. If any hardware as been chnaged recently, maybe it belongs in the Hardware Forum. There are many links if you search the web for "random restart".

Do you get any error messages when it restarts? If not, the below may help to diagnose the problem better:

    Right Click on My Computer
    Click Properties
    Select the Advanced tab
Click the Settings button under Startup and Recovery
Remove the check from the Automatically Restart checkbox

Next time it encounters a problem, it will give you an error message rather than restarting. Write down the error message, restart, and then look up the error message on Google or in Microsoft's Knowledge Base (MSKB).

Thanks, I have done so. Now I'll test it out. And yeah I was beginning to wonder if it was a hardware problem now or not. Sorry if it is, just wanting to make sure with everything else now.

    Thanks once again.
