Hello, I don't know if I am in the right place but if someone could help me, I'd really appreciate it. I have the Dell Inspiron in the title and after I turn it on, it will run for a few minutes then freeze (like it's thinking) and I am no longer able to do anything. It does work in safe mode but obviously I can't continue there. I don't know if it has a virus but I do have AVG but when I run a full scan, it never completes in regular or safe mode. Does anyone have any ideas as to why I can't use the regular mode for more than a few minutes. Thanks, Debbie

When in safe mode, go to start / run / and type in msconfig. Once that opens, go to your start up tab and uncheck all of it. Now reboot and try normal mode. If it works and you don't freeze up, go back into msconfig and re-enable two items at a time until the issue happens again. Trial and error.

Hello and thank for helping me. I tried what you suggested and it seemed to make it work for a couple of minutes longer but then the same thing happened. It froze and the curser just spins so I went back into safe mode and enabled everything again. I even restarted it again, thinking that I may need to do that. Any other suggestions? I really appreciate you taking the time to assist me. I am back in safe mode.
