re: error number in Windows Update

    Hello all,
    I have run the procedures twice in the required scanning and cleaning steps. still, when i try to run Windows Update, i get the error number 0x8007043C and says the website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. I am running Windows xp pro with sp2. any help is appreciated. thanks

    Sounds like you may be trying to run Windows Update from safe mode boot, which is not allowed.

    Is this a correct assumption?

    hey yeah, but another i solved. i uninstalled norton internet security/nav and ran updates after that and it worked. thanks for your help, man. ..
