Re-installing w/out reinstalling

I was just wondering if this could be done: I formatted-reinstalled my OS on my C: drive but had a few games that were installed on my D: drive. Now, is there a way (easy way) to reintegrate them back into the platform w/out spending all that time reinstalling the games? Just wondering and any feedback will be appreciated

ok so I might be a little slow. I guess you really dont have to reinstall it if I can stand having XP think its not installed when you pop the disc in . Anyway thanks for looking. (If anyone does have any ideas still...let me know but I know I dont have to actually re-install it to play.)

you'll have to reinstall, b/c when you installed it first, there were (more than likely) files placed in folders on the c:/ that were removed when you formatted.

what you can do, however, is reinstall the game, then copy the old game folder over the new game folder. that way, you won't lose all your settings and saved games.

 

The only files that were on C were the registry entries (i guess) and the short cuts in start menus (because I installed it on my D drive). I am playing diablo 2 from its old folders perfectly fine. The only annoying thing is when I put the disc in it asks if I want to install it. So I guess the only thing I want to know how to do, and correct me if I am wrong, is how to get it back in the registry? (w/out reinstalling). Anyway just a, "doesnt really matter but cool if I learn how problem."
