I have almost completed all Read/Runme's but BitDefender does not provide a link to an Online Scan. Help. Page talks about Online but "Scan Now" goes straight to a page of tips. Is there another path?

I have identified that a file is hijacking my browser, and in safe mode browser takes me to sites, but not in normal mode. Tks in advance any help.

Hi thanks, but still nowhere to Scan Online. That box offers Explorer Dload & Offer to dload offline scanner. Box also has this under "Online Scanner" but no paths to click:

    Free Online Virus Scanner
BitDefender Online Scanner is a fully functional antivirus product. It features all required elements for thorough antivirus scanning and effective cleaning: it scans your system's memory, all files, folders and drives' boot sectors, providing you with the option to automatically clean the infected files.

    ....still no luck...

In the link I gave you below, you will see an I Agree

That is what you click on. Once you click that it takes you to another screen where you have to click on Click here to scan

Regret to advise that the link contains none of those words "I agree" or "Click here to scan".

Problem is Firefox blocks out that "I agree", but the laptop with the virus is refusing to go to ANY website. I finally used explorer to get an online scan going on my other computer, but what steps should I take for the problem computer which will now not go to any www.

The READ & RUN ME specifically tells you that Internet Explorer must be used for the online scans.

We can only work on one computer in a thread so which computer are we working on. Do you have two with malware problems or only one. If you are saying it is only one that has malware problems and cannot access the web, you will need to download tools onto your other PC and then transfer them to the PC with no web access. You can transfer them anyway you can (like floppy, CD, flashdrive...etc). I also suggest that since the problem PC has no web access that you use our new and much shorter procedures. Here is the link to the new procedure.

There is only ONE problem pc. I've also looked at running processes and find acs.exe is in there, and listed (in google) as a worm. I will read the shortened READ/RUNME.

Not necessarily true! It could be Atheros 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity driver
