reads usb modem as cd drive

    Since changing the harddrive in the pc, it wont install the usb wirelss modem. It shows up in the tray as the correct thing - Huawei E220 HSDPA USB modem - but when you go into my computer, it shows up as a cd drive???? I know that the modem is ok as it works on the laptop. Can someone please tell me how to fix this??????? Thanks heaps

    Please post computer make and model, how you replaced the operating system, version of the operating system, and what CD drives you have in the computer.

    The computer is Optima My PC G2 625 - CEL- D 336 (2.8GHz). The op was replaced via original disc and is running XP Home SP3. There are no cd drives installed, however there is 1 dvd drive.

    Is the modem connected to the PC via USB or wireless?

    the wireless dngle connects via usb.
