I learned this week how "real" people you talk to on the net are.
Years ago, I belonged to a gaming site. I started out as a player, then a host, then a manager. I met many people from many walks of life. Many countries. Some I became friends with through playing. I trained others to be hosts, then managers as I left my manager position. I still played the games.
You learn people's personalities through this. Some good, some bad and some special.
Through the years, I have grown away from the gaming site, playing very seldom. I still kept in touch with some of the people I had met.
This past week I got an IM letting me know that one of the people who were truly special passed away unexpectedly. To tell the truth, I am still in shock.
Anyways, I guess the moral to this is we are all people behind these computers. Real people with lives.

    Take care everyone.

Very Very true Gal, their have been some that I have come into contact with and chat ok via Forum/IM/Email with but the convos have been just like I would have with a friend IRL, that have gone missing or passed on... so yes its sad when you loose a cyber friend.

Death of someone we know is always something of a shock, even when we should be expecting it. Less of a shock as we get old and spend more time burying ever more people we know, but it never becomes routine.

    Sorry about your loss gal1998.

Sorry for your sad loss, there Gal.:(

Yeah, I thought I'd never be really close anyone I met via the net. I was wrong. There have been a few plonkers, many neutral people, many friends, and a few extra special ones (you know who you are). Just like so-called "real life", I guess.

See, that's something people should keep in mind. Even though, personally, I'm not all that socially orientated, but it should be kept in mind that we are real people, with real emotions and thoughts, and every bit of thought should be put into a typed conversation, just as a verbal one - if not more so, as a lot more folk are going to 'hear' you, if you know what I mean.
