The web site and organization www.stopbadware.org has recently done something that many of us have probably been thinking should have been done long ago, they have labeled RealPlayer as "badware". The 'stopbadware' project is backed by Google, Sun, and Lenovo and is managed by Harvard Law School. RealPlayer was labeled because of it's adware practices and when uninstalled, the Rhapsody engine that is bundled with Real Player 11 is not removed with Real Player. I recently stumlbed across their site, and have added it to my bookmarks.

I regard RealPlayer as toxic waste and avoid it like the plague and even more so after reading your informative post.

    Cheers
