So this all first started happening a few months ago when I was updating my audio drivers. The update was doing its thing then it crashed for some reason, and I haven't been able to update it at all since then. Oddly enough though, my audio has always worked fine. That is until today, for no reason that I can see, my audio has stopped working all of a sudden. But even though I can't hear anything either through my headphones or monitor speakers, I can see the little audio fader thing moving when I have some audio playing.

What can I do to try and fix this problem? Oh, and I should also note, the image that I posted, I get that pop-up every time I start my computer. And the following is what it shows when you click the Details button.

    Hi

Randomly guessing you are using Windows 7 but its best to tell us what Windows version and Service Pack you are using as some issues/fix can be different per version.

Is your PC an OEM like ACER, HP, SONY etc and if so what make and model version is it?
Did you install this update from Microsoft (windows update) or the OEM? or was this from an 3rd party driver updater app?

If you can give us the Windows version and Service Pack plus your PC make and model that would be great as we can advise more, the likelihood is I would advise you to uninstall the audio driver then install the chipset driver and reboot then install the audio driver for your make and model of PC or motherboard from the maker only and not a random website.
