I have Realtek AC'97 and installed the Realtek High Definition drivers. Will this work. my sound still works but did it install and work?

    Hi,
In your device manager what does it say under the "sound, video and game controllers" tree ?? does it list that you have the realtek hd driver, if so then the answer to your question is indeed "YES" to both!!!;)

    Hi
With your audio working fine with no apparent issues, then I would advise that you leave your audio driver alone!!! messing about with different drivers can create a huge headache with compatability issues and the like!!:( they can even render a machine useless :cry so best left alone ;) unless a driver fix is needed.

So should I uninstall the HD driver and update the AC'97 driver. shouldn't my drivers be update?

Hi if your audio is working fine then just leave things as they are ;).

As for updating drivers this should only be done if you are experiencing a specific problem that a driver update will fix!!! otherwise if all is working as it should be then my advice is to "leave well alone" :-D
