So i have a MSI G31M3-L motherboard with build in Realtek Audio.
I run Win XP, and i gad a problem with driver before. Problem was that it needed windows hotfix KB835221 for it. After applying hotfix everything was working perfectly.
Month ago i caught trojan and had to reinstall windows. I did everything as before installed driver, then applied hotfix to get sound working.
but now every time my PC loads i get message that new device has been found(Audio card) and want me to install drivers. However drivers are installed and i do have sound.
so i was wondering if its possible to block those pop up "found new hardware" messages either by doing something different with drivers or with windows itself.

    Thanks

yes you can use this program to find and disable notifications during startup:AUTORUNS

I would look under the logon tab under realtek, you of course would need to know the exact startup entry to disable cause you could disable something you need.

Is it a windows driver or did you download driver from motherboard website?

it was driver from MB CD. and another time i tried i got drivers from MB website.

Sorry misunderstood your post thought you were getting notifications from realtek. Forget using autoruns for now.
I would check the driver version you are running first and compare that to motherboard website. Often times older drivers have bugs in them that the manufacturer will fix later on.
Always better to try to fix the underlying problem first.

i got latest drivers from website. no change..

if i install just drivers from CD/website i get no messages. windows sees my sound card and saying that it work perfectly. but no sound. so right after i apply hotfix sound appear but messages about finding new hardware starting to pop on windows load.
could it be problem with MB drives? do they depend on each other?

could be the MB driver, you can use either MS driver or Manufacturer driver not sure what you mean by depend on each other. Did you try using MS driver? What was result?

    try running this tool http://support.microsoft.com/mats/AudioPlayback/en-us?entrypoint=lightbox

could always buy a cheap PCI audio card and be done messing with it http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100008658%20600011977&IsNodeId=1&name=PCI

    Hi

Do you have any yellow ! marks in Device Manager and if so by what device?

Possible fix is to re-install your Chipset driver from HERE and reboot, then install the Audio driver again from HERE
