Rebooting my computer

I am trying to fix my old computer and I want to erase whats on it and start over. The problem is I cannot find the windows 98 boot disk. Is there a way to keep Windows 98 on the computer and erase everything else?

 

You could always ask around and see if someone you know has an old 98 disk or
get a cheap copy from ebay if you want to reinstall.
Your only other option without the 98 disk, is to remove unwanted programs in the Add/Remove applet in Control Panel. Once these programs are removed download and run a registry cleaner. http://majorgeeks.com/downloads15.html
A freeware one will do. After your all done, do regular maintenance, defrag and scandisk.

 

if i were you, i would install windows xp
then take the fisher price look off and it will run as fast as 98 on your old pc

As fast as 98? I would definetly check the specs of your machine first before entertaining this thought.

 

Yeah i was not sure about running winxp on a machine orignally with 98. I would say maybe try windows 2k as an alternative. Its small and light and has many of the features of xp without the fisher price crap that it has. Have it on my old pIII 600MhZ pc and it runs great and gives me many of the features of xp but its friendly to the old pc.
