    Hi All,
Recently i posted a thread about some changes AVG found:
    C:/WINDOWS\system\kernel32.dll
    C:/WINDOWS\system\shell32.dll
My computer was crashing allot and freezing up. I took the advice about disabling my extra anti virus and the problem stopped. Thank you very much Major Geeks. I have now found that every time i log on my desktop the icons are in a different place. I don't know if this is a problem or not but it only started in the last few days. When i ran spy bot it told me my windows fire wall was shut off so i let it fix it.
AVG shows no viruses. All the problems seem to have started along with the changes in the dll's. I am running XP and IE7. If any one has any advice i would surly appreciate the help.
Also i am running windows live one care i have shut off the anti virus in favor of AVG as one care seems to have never found anthing was this a wise move?

windows live care comes with an anti-virus, and you have AVG installed, thats a no-no. 2 anti-viruses can conflict with each other. Uninstall one of them, and see if that fixes your probs.

Arrange your icons as you want them ....right click on the desktop / properties / customize / web / and check "lock the desktop" ...see if it does.

Do i need to uninstall one anti virus or is it ok to just disable it? Over the past few months AVG has found a couple of viruses. Live one care has found nothing and thats the one i pay for. I know have the live one care antivirus shut off. If it were you which one would you keep?
    Thanks Dan

Thanks Tim live one care seems to have been a waste anyway. Also locking the desktop seems to have worked.
    Thanks again,
    Dan
