Where did you get the info for setting up your account in Outlook Express? Who is your ISP? Have you double-checked the settings for outgoing mail?

Has it suddenly stopped working, or is this a new account you are setting up?

If you are away your pop3 account probably won't work for sending, only for receiving. Use webmail while away.

With most ISP's you can only send mail when connected via their servers, but when away you are usually using some other server to connect to the net, hence the failure.

To use webmail go to your ISP's website where you will find links to Mail. You can sign in there and read and send.

    Good luck.

Set where e-mail messages are sent from and received
    1. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
    2. Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
    3. In the Deliver new mail to the following location list, click where you want to send and receive messages.
    4. Click Finish.
    5. Quit and restart Microsoft Outlook.
