Recommend a QUIET power supply.

Hi,i`d appreciate a recommendation on a really quiet 500 to 600 watt power supply.
Do power supplys basically all come the same size so they fit most pc cases.

I can't hear them.

For the quietest PSUs, I think the consensus would be models from Seasonic.

Yep Enermax is quiet at idle. Many of them have fan speed knobs in the back.

Zalman makes quiet parts:

They are NOT all the same size though.

The difference is that some are slightly longer than others. Length being defined as measured from the rear ie where the power switch is located to the front ie where the cabling comes out. If you see what I mean.

The Enermax and Antecs that I have are the same size but my OCZ PowerStream is about 1 1/2" longer. Check out the measurements on the manufacturers website.

Seasonic make some excellent quiet PSU's.

I have an Antec Phantom 500 and the fan NEVER turns on even though I have it on the most safe setting. Problem with the Antec is you need quite a bit of room in your case. It's VERY long...
