Recommend me a Motherboard?

Hi there, just setting up a new rig. Going to buy the AMD Athlon quad core 620 processor. Was just wondering wot u guys can recommend me for a MOBO, budget is £100.

It is an AM3 socket.

Personally I would recommend http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158608 as you are getting more of what you need for our money, as there is crossfire support should you ever need that, more SATA ports, and you are not paying for onboard graphics that you are never likely to use.

 

I seconded collins suggestion If you going with a AM3 socket. I would select a motherboard that also take advantage of DDR3 RAM. I have a Gigabyte motherboard and have had no problems with it.

 

After building several PC's with the newer multi-core AMD cpu's, I've pretty well settled on the MSI brand of motherboard. They are feature rich and have ample USB and SATA2 ports. My own MSI K9N Platinum (motherboard) has more features than I'll ever use in 50 years.
I recently had to work on a home-made PC with an Asus mobo, and I was greatly disappointed by its lack of features.
I was totally unimpressed.

I have an Asus p5q-e and very happy with it and the features. I have a cheaper Asus board and it doesn't have many features. IT seems like with Asus if you buy a cheap motherboard you don't get many features.

 

PCI slot extra card can provide you features which you are not getting through same motherboard.
