    Hi People

Just got a new PC and would like to know what are the best applications as a MUST INSTALL IN GENERAL!, I got a P4 2.8GHz Last week as a gift from my ex-girlfriend which was quiet a surprise, and today I finally got my 1500/256 ADSL connection (Using a speedtouch 530 modem) and would like to know what software for a fresh windows XP Pro install you recommend?

I formatted tonight, Put on Windows XP Professional, DX9b, Windows XP SP1a, New Radeon drivers, Mainboard drivers, etc...

Now its time to install soft applications, and I would like to know what I should install to save myself qualms in the future, and just download them now and install instead of fussing about later.

AKA, DivX? Forte Agent? Mirc? Quicktime? Ad-Aware? WinAMP, WinRAR, Winzip, etc etc

Which applications and if there is alternatives to that program, which specific one is the best avaliable for that criteria?

    Kindest Regards,

One that doesn't get a mention but is my most used program is

    SlickRun v3.2.2.2 from http://www.bayden.com/slickrun/updates.asp?l=en&ver=3.2.2.2

It is a beta version but I have been using it for quite a while now with no problems ( a bit different from our early testing of Spybot betas, Ha ha :p ).

I have over 120+ shortcuts stored in it.

I can access Internet Explorer by simply typing IE, then pressing enter of course, X gives me Excel, mg gives an Excel MG spreadsheet where I store thread details of stuff that might come in handy, or improves my knowledge, MM gets me to MusicMatch, mydocs to MyDocument folder, etc., etc., etc.

No, it is not on MG. (Dear Abby, I did search for it, but IMHO it should be on every PC)

Best of all it's FREE. Try it, what have you got to lose.
Love to hear any comments back. Baz
