    Hi,

I'm in the market for an LCD monitor. Any recommendations? I'm looking for one that is 17-inches and silver in color. Right now I have my eye on the Dell UltraSharp 1707FP or the Dell SE177FP 17-inch Flat Panel LCD. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...dhs&~ck=anav&nf=1253~0~6036&navla=1253~0~6036 I'm looking to spend around $200.00 and only need it for web browsing and text editing. What is the difference between Dell Ultrasharp and Dell regular?

I bought an LG from Best Buy, but will be returning it tomorrow. For some reason the display flickers wherever there is text. I have not seen this on any other flat panel LCD monitors--any thoughts one why my text is flickering and shaking?

I'm currently using the factory recommended settings of 1280 X 1024 at 60 Hz. Is it possible it could be my old integrated graphics card? I had no problems on my old CRT.

Also, I noticed the display model had the same problem with flickering--however I assumed this was either their signal or just that particular unit. Seems as though I was wrong...

    Thanks,
    James

The flickering is probably the LCD, and not your PC. Occasionally, factories will produce a lemon ;)
