I am getting ready to start building my(first) PC.

I have been looking at cases and I thinking of going with a coolermaster.

I want to make sure I get a case that will be able to handle all my future needs. I like the coolermaster cmstacker, as it has room for 11 5.25"s and has optional coverter that makes 3 5.25's into 4 3.5's and adds a fan.

The only thing i dont like about the cmstacker is the lack of a front door to keep the dust and debris away from my drives.

My pc is gonna be centered around gaming and i am gonna get top of the line parts with that in mind.

Do you all think the cmstacker is overkill? It seems to me to be the most upgrade friendly case i have seen as it provides space for so many drives.

    what do u guys think?

The case really doesn't matter that much. I do recommend you get a PSU seperatley to the case, as the PSU's that come with cases are usually crap.
As long as you have at least one position for a fan front and back, you should be fine, as well as ample space for HD's, FD's, CD drives.. etc.

I doub't you would want more than 2 HD's ever. And i doubt you will want more than 2 CD rom drives either (or DVD, of course)

Go with what you like the look of :)

Yeah basically what goldfish said. Cases are mainly just for customizing so you go with what you like and think looks good. I would also make sure you get a good cooling system to go with it and i decent psu depending on how much stuff your going to be putting in it. I would go for around 400-450 for the psu.

Unless your going into mass producing CDs .. that is a bit of overkill 11 5.25" drives... most of the time as the guys above said you are only going to have a DVD and CDRW/DVDRW in those bays and as for 3.5" HDs then alot of the coolermaster range have ample space for at least 4 HDs.

Take the nice looking Coolermaster WaveMaster case for instance http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1552 4 - 5.25" bays, 4 3.5" HD bays plus two 80mm cooling fans at bottom infront of HD bay etc etc

I have this case with 2 5.25" DVD/DVDRW and 4 3.5" HDs in it and still have enough space left.. not that theres much left you'll need to fill the unused bays. Coolermaster Pretorian

also while I was looking at what Coolermaster have new was this retro looking case Coolermaster Cave

    you guys are awesome.

I did decide to go with the wavemaster(silver) even bf I read Halo's post!

So you say a 400-450 watt PSU is the way to go?

I still need some advice on which PSU to get.

    I am seeing some 400w PSU's @ $20-$30, and then some around $100.

can i assume the $25 PSU's are junk?

I wouldn't assume that right away. I dont think you are going to need a $100 psu. But yeah I would go with something at least at 400 watt.

Ok, so i decided on the coolermaster wavemaster case.

I was thinking about getting a Antec Trueblue 480w PSU.

coolermaster and raidmax also have comparably priced models.

which brand(s) do you guys like?

also how can i tell if the PSU will fit right in the case?

Antec TruPower's are good. TrueBlue is just a LED modded version (isn't it?)I'd get at least 350W.
