Where can I find a chart or info on the recommended working temperature of an Intel P4 2.53 (Socket 478) processor and system recommended working temperature. (mobo is a MSI GNB Max)

    Thanks for any help.

Don't know about a chart..but I asked the same basic question. There are a couple of freeware programs to measure temps in this thread mentioned in this thread.

There must be a recommended temperature guide somewhere.

The 'between 30 and 40 degrees' sounds unrealistic, my 2.53Ghz P4 has been running at a hot 50 - 54 degrees on idle and around 65 on 3D games for the past 3 years ( I even had to lower the working voltage from 1.5 to 1.44 when I first bought it in order that it didn't get any hotter). I would have thought that the temp for such a processor should be around 45 on idle rising to around 57-58 for 3D games. Someone must know???
Incidently my system temp is around 40, and I think thats too high also, but what can I do short of adding many fans..........creating more noise........

I searched the intel site pretty good and didn't find any temp specs for your PC.
Here is a question and answers I found.
