Good God, what is the world coming to? It's still malware, and they should still have to pay the price for releasing it.

Have to wonder what the legit P2P software companies will think of this Microsoft being one of them?

Somehow I dont think many people will be downloading that software in the first place, maybe a few parents that are scared little Johnny/Jenny are downloading entire music catalogues.

    ROLMAO at this statment
Cannot for the life of me see an educational benefit to that software

Think your right Rikky, only this week did Steve Jobs say if teh record companies decide to want to up the prices of downloads that, that excersise would turn the converted back to illegal downloading!!

guess these Fwits in the music industry need to start listening to the techies?

Once you go over to the darkside theres no going back at least in the eyes of consumers, resorting to dirty tactics is just that,I think they have to let reality sink in they have been making too much money for far too long by ripping people off, ofcourse thats no excuse for piracy, but the thing you have to look at is who decides who gets a record contract? The record companies do ofcourse, part of it is down to talent but the simple fact is its a monopoly where they manipulate all the strings, they own MTV,the radio stations, they decide what your going to listen to,like it or not In my honest opinion they decide what your gonna buy with little respect for artistic merit, they also decide how much your gonna pay, which is the main goal of record companies,to make money.

I would love a world where everyone has a chance to show thier talent and reach a global audience, the internet can give everyone that oppertunity to perform and distribute thier talent, its just the puppet masters will be cut from the loop and they dont like it,there are two ways it can go Mass policing of the internet or an internet that carries on stealing from each other and no one ever getting the rewards for thier work and talent

I hate the thought of both,in the end people want ot listen to music,we will always create and distribute it,the record companies have to decide how much of a part of that they want to be.

The glory days are over
