    Hello,

I am trying to restore an old Dell Inspiron 910 (Dell Mini 9). This netbook was converted into a Hackintosh . It hasn't been used in over a year. I would like to recover the data if possible. When I boot I get the following errors:

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Existing PXE Rom
    Operating system not found

The Bios shows : STEC PATA 16GB -(PM)
    Size : 0GB
    Bios A06
    I have tried the following:
    (1) Tried to restore the hard drive using Macrium restore but the software does not see the iso file that is on the a separate usb drive, so I can't choose it.
    (2) Ran Seatools V1.(from UltimateCD) Received error freeze lock drive
    (3) Ran Seatools V2(from UltimateCD) Drive passed long test and short test

Any suggestions to get the hard drive to be read or at least retrieve the data?

    Thanks

Hmm, looks like the drive was PATA via mini-PCiE, so like an eMMC drive on a WiFi card without aerial connections: https://www.amazon.com/32GB-RunCore-Light-50mm-RCP-IV-M5032-MC/dp/B003EHNKNA/ref=pd_cp_e_1 (replacement 2x capacity)

Any viable replacement would likely cost a working human organ or two.

The original drive is probably dead, or much of the data is 'faded out', these things were rather experimental, almost certainly losing data quite rapidly without regular power/rest/recharge cycles. Maybe a run or two of the generic SSD 'refresher' routine would breathe enough life back into it for the BIOS to recognise it as usable: https://uk.crucial.com/support/articles-faq-ssd/why-did-ssd-disappear-from-system

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm waiting on an enclosure to be delivered. I bought an Ide / Pata enclosure. Hope it works. Will update on how the process goes. Has anyone ever used the Stec drive utility file? I wanted to know if this would repair the drive or wipe it clean and where I can download the file.
    Thanks

Thanks for the help. I ordered an enclosure but it was for mSata. Sending it back. Any suggestions on how to connect the hard drive to another laptop to retrieve the data? I can't find any enclosures that work with a pata mini pcie ssd drive. Most enclosures seem to be for 2.5' drives.
