Ok so i have a computer I had to reformat but we want to try and recover some of the files. I know there is a software that can do this, i used it once but I dont remember the name anymore. Anyone with any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Wild Style,

I've used MBRWORK from a floppy a few times to recover from a format/partition deletion.

There are many freeware apps you could try to recover your data http://majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=20#recoverp are some of the best, if they don't work, I'd recommend RecoverMyFiles - but it'll cost :(.

    Good luck.
