I have a computer that is no longer used, but it has a current version of Windows XP (probably service pack 1, I have the disks). If I completely decommission this computer, is it possible to recover the Windows XP software, to put on a new computer?

If so, what steps do I need to take (a) with Microsoft, and (b) on my old computer?

    Thanks.
