My son recently formatted a hard drive through dish network. My PC no longer recognizes the hard drive. Is there a way to save it?

There are file recovery suites like Recuva, and Stellar Phoenix.

You would need to connect the hard drive to a computer, and scan it to recover the files. The main issue is what the Dish Network format is. If it's not a standard format, then that's why the PC doesn't see it.

You could try formatting the drive to NTFS, so it can be seen by the PC and scanned. HOWEVER, there is a risk to any data you would like to recover (if any) because two formats will make it more difficult to retrieve.

If there is no data to recover, then you can to go into "Disk Management" and reformat the volume without worry.
