recovering deleted photos on cell phone

What Windows version and Service Pack do you have?

I have not got that phone so cannot recreate any steps but on some phones that also Windows to access their memory as a removable drive, you can recover data, also if the phones uses smart media cards its even better.

Do you have the USB cable to connect the phone to your PC? if so then just see if you can access the phones memory via Windows, you may then be able to use an image recovery app like PC Inspector Smart Recovery (other apps HERE, Recuva is good also)

If you use a SD smart card to save your images or data on the phone then as its a microSD type pop it into the full size SD card holder they come with and pop it into a PCs SD card reader and try the above apps.

But when recovering data do not save it to the host drive.

 

Not as far as I'm aware as they save not as a normal text file, whereas images save generally as a jpeg.

Although given some free time I may see if my HTC HD2 allow me to access the SMS store location, but then that would be only a solution for my phone type, as there are many phones, you'd have to know how they save SMS files, and is the location accessible for data recovery.
