I am helping a neighbor recover from a personal security malware attack.
I was able to abate the malware long enough to save data to an external hard drive. My question is: can I now reload windows and restore the data?
It includes Ms Office documents, pictures, and music. The OS is XP.Thanks for your reply:-o

I have moved your thread to the software forum as it appears you are going to do a total reformat and install.

Thanks Tim. I'm ignorant but trying hard to learn. I appreciate the help.
