recycle bin views

i have repeatedly set the view on recycle bin to details and it reverts to icons.
i have "remember each folder setting" checked.
operating system winXP home sp2

My Folder views have not been sticking as I want them, despite all my previous attempts to fix this.
Your link quoting create a new DWORD is one I haven't come across before.

the registry key in question already has a bagMRU size with a value of 5000.

 

Just make sure that there are not duplicate entries with different values. Mine had them. Have deleted the duplicate bagMRU entry with the lesser value. Bazza

i only checked the one registry key.
there are two that must be checked, the second had no bagmru size at all.

also for anyone doing this remember the values are in decimal not hexadecimal.

in any case the problem is solved on my end.
